WHY
THIS
EXISTS.

I played competitive hockey my entire life, from youth to collegiate and professional. Canada, Norway, Kazakhstan and more. The sport was my everything — my identity, my community, my purpose, my whole world.

And then it ended. Not dramatically. Just quietly. One season was the last one, and suddenly the structure I'd built my entire life around was gone.

"I didn't know who I was without the game because I didn't think I'd ever had to ask."

What followed was something nobody in my world really talked about. Burnout. Identity confusion. The strange grief of retiring from something you love before you're truly ready. And the even stranger feeling of having all the time in the world and no idea what to do with it.

So I started rebuilding. A coaching practice. A camera. A lofi channel. Slowly, I've started discovering who I am beyond the athlete, uncovering different parts of me I didn't know existed.

The Hang Up is for everyone who's in that space — or heading toward it. The newsletter, the community, the conversations nobody was having with me when I needed them most.

You hung it up. Now what?

ISSUE PREVIEWS.
Issue 01
THE GAME YOU DIDN'T KNOW WAS YOUR LAST
"I couldn't tell you who my last game was against. I don't even remember the score."

The day you retire, nobody hands you a roadmap. One day you're an athlete — it's all you've ever been — and the next you're just... figuring it out.

Issue 02 — Identity
THE MONDAY AFTER
"Nobody prepares you for the Monday after your last game. No practice. No workout. Just open space."

You spent years living by a schedule that wasn't yours to make. Then overnight, it's gone. This is what happens when the structure disappears — and you realize it was holding a lot more than just your calendar.

Issue 03
WHEN YOU CAN'T "JUST DO IT"
"I couldn't bring myself to get into the gym. There was no goal to chase. I didn't see the point."

You were an athlete. The gym was your second home. So why does walking through that door feel impossible now? This is about losing your why — and judging yourself every single day for it.
